Position Overview
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of café operations, maintaining an outstanding guest experience, and driving revenue through excellent service and strategic initiatives. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong business acumen, a passion for organic and vegetarian cuisine, and the ability to build and inspire a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain top-tier hospitality professionals.
- Develop and implement training programs to maintain service excellence.
- Create schedules that optimize labor costs and operational efficiency.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture through coaching and mentorship.
Guest Experience & Hospitality
- Ensure a warm, welcoming, and efficient guest experience.
- Address and resolve guest concerns with professionalism and care.
- Maintain a polished and inviting front-of-house atmosphere.
Operations & Purchasing
- Oversee daily café operations, both FOH and BOH, to ensure efficiency and consistency.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee purchasing for optimal quality and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue and profitability.
- Actively promote and grow catering and private event sales.
- Monitor financial performance, labor costs, and food costs, making data-driven decisions.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3-5+ years of experience as a General Manager or similar leadership role in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of organic, vegetarian, and health-conscious food practices.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage costs, budgets, and drive revenue.
- Passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- Experience with catering and event sales is a plus.
