- Ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency in daily kitchen production and service
- Place daily produce and supply orders to maintain freshness and proper inventory levels
- Create, document, and standardize recipes to ensure consistency across all dishes and baked goods
- Work hands-on at line and prep stations alongside team members as needed
- Maintain and help evolve a menu aligned with our organic, gluten-free, and plant-based standards
- Ensure strict compliance with NYC Department of Health regulations and procedures
- Uphold food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards at all times
- Train, mentor, and develop BOH team members to foster a positive, high-performing culture
- Support hiring and onboarding of BOH staff
- Collaborate with ownership on growth initiatives and new menu development
Who You Are
- Passionate about vegetarian / plant-based cuisine and wellness-focused food
- Experienced in gluten-free cooking and baking (strongly preferred)
- Background working in similar health-conscious or specialty kitchens
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams of up to 20 people
- Strong knowledge of NYC Department of Health standards
- Valid NYC Food Handler’s Certificate (required)
- Highly organized with strong leadership and communication skills
- Bilingual (required)
- Open availability (including weekends and holidays)
- Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented
What We Offer
- Competitive salary (based on experience)
- Performance-based bonus structure when targets are met
- Health insurance benefits available
- Free staff meals
- A collaborative and positive work environment
- Strong growth opportunities within an expanding company
If you’re a chef who believes in clean ingredients, thoughtful cooking, and leading with purpose, we’d love to meet you.
